What's Best For A Silver Car?

Dad just bought a Hummer H3 (Silver) and I'm going to wash it for him, as I am the detailing master of the household . I want to make it a real deep mirror glaze, But I wanted to know what was best for silver cars. I heard Zaino is good for silver too, but I'm not sure.

My system is

-Wash
-Claybar
-P21S Paint Cleansing Lotion
-Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze (as many coats as I can)

Any suggestions for a silver car? Or should my system above that I use on my teal Camaro work well?

Also, I was wondering if I should put Klasse on top of regular wax, like "Simply Z Best" liquid wax, which works very well. I have heard of using Klasse as a topcoat, what do you think?

I have a silver car, and Zaino definitely works well on it.

Re: What's Best For A Silver Car?

I have a question. I've always wondered if all this claying and using products I've never heard of actually does some good. Does it? I only use a tub of Turtle Wax or Mother's squirt-bottle wax, and haven't used any of the other stuff. What does claying do? Or cleansing lotion or sealant glaze?

I'd really like to know what all this stuff does.

Contaminants in paint stick to a clay bar. No abrasives, so no scratches. They do not take out swirls or scratches, just surface contaminants.

-Wash it
-Clay it, because "raildust" could be present
-Wash Again
-Then do couple coats of Z2 pro. w/ ZFX additive
Then use Z6 if ya want in the end

sounds good, thanks bow.

EDIT: He's getting the paint "sealed" tomorrow at the dealer, does that matter any? I can still polish effectively, right?

Dealers are still doing that? It is a rip off.

It's sometimes called a "paint protection package".

Many times, it's the Simonize treatment or something similar. It lasts five years if you reapply it every year kind of thing, and I've heard of them charging $800+ for it.

They had it there, I think I did it maybe one time on a black Denali. Susan used to sell the "Paint Protectant" package sometimes, but I don't think Ryan ever did. All it is was Pro's version of paint sealant. I think the customer had to come back every so often for a re-application. We ran out of it one time, and Hugh said not to even bother ordering another bottle of it.

After you get it back from the dealer, wash it with Dawn soap to get that dealer sealant off. Then do as Bow said. Also, be sure to post some pics.

OK, back to topic, I'd stick with the Klasse SG, it looks great on metallic finishes. No use spending more money on Zaino when SG will look just as good if not better and will still last a long time.
