what kind of wax is good and in stores?
what kind of wax is good and in stores?
before anybody asks, yes i looked at the threads below
i just wanted to see more opinions on my certain situation
basically, i want to do both my cars before summer
the z is in excellent condition paintwise (only 50k miles on it, although it is 10 years old)
the rs though is oxidized slightly and i used some meguiars color-x i think it was called, it seemed to work but it also made some swirls
i think i can get rid of those once i do it over again though
anyways, i have already used zaino and though it was good it didn't quite work the way i wanted (it still showed the rs's paint job flaws and the z looked fine though)
i sold it because i needed money at the time so i'm just looking for a store bought wax now
i saw the nxt thread below- who makes this stuff?
and lastly, what do you think i should get?
sorry about the length

Of course Zaino will show the flaws in bad paint. Zaino is not abrasive and will not remove scratches. Z5 is available to slowly fill in swirls, but Zaino is not advertised to cure bad paint. It sounds as if you need to take care of the bad paint before you do anything as far as waxing, or you'll most likely be disappointed again.

It depends on how serious you want to get. If it hasn't been mentioned yet, you should address issues such as old wax, swirls, particles, etc. with a good paint cleaner and polish.
Now if you've done that, and you want to change to wax or try a different wax, it will depend on how much you want to spend. My first recommendation to you is to do a little investigating on your own to see what are some of the well regarded brands out there. The next step you should take is to compare some of those brands to see which one will produce the result that you are seeking.
To make this short, though, I would definitely recommend Mother's California Gold System as a good, comprehensive cleaner, polish and wax system that is readily available in auto parts stores. It does a good job in giving your car good coverage, and it will provide a good foundation for you into learning the ins and outs of detailing.
Do compare products, however.

I love meguiars nxt, awesome on dark colors, easy to apply, hides minor imperfections. I also have to disagree with the statement that it doesnt last as long. Its made it through the winter and it still beads water.

I bought my vert couple months ago, and the dealership buffed it and it was swirled BAD. So i was kinda like you what to use, i have used almost everything over the years. Eagle one makes a new wax nano wax or something, i seen it and tried it, and while no more swirls at all!! it was amazing.
