Post What kind of leaf blower should I get?

I'm sick and tired of having water pouring out of nooks and crannies after I dry it, and I want to buy a leaf blower as soon as possible.

The only problem is they are a bit pricy. Should I buy a 210mph blower for around $60, or buy a much cheaper, 140mph blower for $32? Will there be a huge difference? And if I buy the cheaper one anyway, what consequences would I face?

Hey you might want to stick wth a less powerful electric blower. When you have a more powerful leaf blower you run a greater chance of damaging the paint surface. Paint chips and surface scratches can be affected and become larger with too much power. The majority of your drying should be coming from an absorber or water blade.

Hmm...Thanks for the info, but I still have one question though. What can the 210mph blowers do that 140mph blowers can't? With the lower powered model, can I still blow out ALL of the stuck water in the crevices, and most of the water off the panels of the car?

When I emailed Sal Zaino about using water blades and absorbers he did not recommend it because they can still scratch if something is caught in them.

I use a 215 MPH Craftsman to blow out the wheels and crooks, works perfect. The lower speed ones just are not as effective.

To quote Tim "the Tool Man" Taylor from Home Improvement - "More Power!"

I have a gas blower (which should NOT be used to dry a car with) that I use on my driveway after I mow the lawn and, while I am not sure of its speed (but I am certain it is way less than 200 MPH), it is far less powerful than my Toro 210 MPH electric leaf blower I use on my car. I have been using the Toro for over a year now and have had absolutely no problems drying the car with it. It's fast at drying and it gets the water out of crevices quickly. I am sure the 140 MPH electric would work fine, but it may take a bit longer to dry the car with.

I bought the Toro 215 mph electric leaf blower for $99 about 6 months ago. No complaints here. I use 215 all the time, except for doing the door hinge area (140)

Thanks, everyone. Really appreciate the info.

*Looks over at the post above.*

Jeez, you paid 99 bucks? No offense, but you got ripped off! I think the Toro 215 sells for $60 at most at most hardware places.

I've got the big and nasty gas. 5 of them. landscaping. they work great for drying the car. but what works great is an electric one for DOG HAIR. I have to take my 165lbs. St. Bernard Daisy (I did not name her)for cruises to the car show. when I get home open both doors and blow it out.
