What kind of bonnet to use with rubbing comound

I just bought some 3M rubbing compound, i'm planning on using my little sears buffer with it and my question is what kind of bonnet should I use. I bought a "wooltex" bonnet by turtleWax b/c they said that was the best for rubbing compound. Are they right? By the way the buffer is a 7 inch buffer/polisher, 2400 OPM, 3000 RPM...... not sure what that means or if it makes a difference

A wool cutting pad will be the most effective when compounding, and a foam polishing pad for polishing the compounded area.
