Post What do i use to polish my intake?

My lt-1 has been (now in my 3rd gen) has been sitting in a 96 formula for over a year. There is a really nasty shade to the intake. I was wondering what i should use to get it off and make it look pritty close to new? thanks

I'm not familiar with the LT-1 intake, are you talking about the big black intake tube that connects air filter to throttlebody? Mine developed grey areas after the newness went away. I was able to clean this grey stuff very well with soap and water and a toothbrush to get in the narrow places. I use a little tire dressing on it and it's stayed black and clean looking for about 7 years now.

Cool

I used Eagle One nvrdull on the fuel rails and top of intake as well as all other aluminum lines/fittings. Works great and w/o much effort. Once shined, easy to maintain. If you have a lot of grease, etc on the manifold, you may want to use a good degreaser from the auto parts house of your choice (Read instructions!!). Good luck!

Your really not going to be able to polish if much with it mounted on the car and even if it where off polishing the rough cast all the way out to polished alum. would be a job for pros most of the time.

Your best would be to clean the rough cast very good just to brighten it up, I can tell you that Xenit from Stoners cleans the heck out of rough alum, or some of the other orange based cleaners are good also.
