Wax - Liquid vs Spray

What is the best kind to use, I have the kind that you pour out and buff in, and also the spray kind that you rub in? Any ideas or are they all the same?

By spray waxes, I think you may be referring to a Quick Detail type spray. If so, these type of products offer basically no long term protection, but serve to immediately boost the shine, slickness, and extend the durability of whatever wax or polish product you are using. You definitely need to use a liquid or paste wax or polish to protect the paint finish. The wax is what creates a barrier between your paint finish and the elements. The stronger the wax the more the protection, durabillity, and usually shine. The QD sprays are kinda like touchups in between waxings, but aren't meant to be substitutes for regular waxing. Basically, any product that you "spray" on the car will offer next to no protection.

They definatly are not the same. There is no replacement for a good carnuba paste wax, although a quick detailing spray is good on top of a few good coats of wax.

There are plenty of replacements for carnauba waxes. Just about any of the synthetic polishes are much better than the best of the carnauba waxes. I'd use NuFinish before I'd go back to carnauba.

If your goal is a great shine AND protecting the finish and has great durability, then check out the Zaino webpage.

I remember about 6-7 years ago, there was an supposed liquid wax equivilant in an aerosol can that you sprayed on like a foam! (I wanna say it was a Formula 2000 brand or something like that)

Anyway, I am not sure what it was called, but I remember watching a demo from some guy at a show, and this stuff floated all over the place in the wind, left marks all over the wiper area and windshield (He was doing the hood near the windshield)... it was actually wuite funny.

What a mess that was.
