waterless carwash
waterless carwash
Hey guys, I just totalled my 97 Z and I just bought a cherry 2000 SS. It seems the paint is near perfection, hardly any small surface swirls. Question is, I bought my old Z from a guy who used Dri wash and guard. The paint was beautiful, but it had small scratches barely visible unless you looked really close. Should I use it on my new SS or stick to Zaino like everyone else seems to be having success with? Also is the waterless system bad for the finish? I used it religiously on my Z and it always looked good, but it had the small scratches.

I would switch products, many Dri wash customers notice that when they stop using DWG and wash their cars a few times they can see many more scratches, this is due to the fact that after the oils are washed off there is nothing to hide the surface scratches. A synthetic product will give you much better durabilty. If you read their web site they also say that DWG will remove light scratches, and as we all know the only way to remove light scratches is with the use of abrasives, something that the new cars of today do not need with their softer paint systems.
Don't use waterless car washes. Think about it, there is a 100% chance that you'll be rubbing dirt around on your paint, so that means that it will inevitably leave scratches. I think that waterless car washes have some type of wax in them which covers up those scratches.
