Washing and waxing q's
Ok, I've gotten really good at washing and detailing, but I recently found out I'm using some stuff that isn't all that good for the car.
Right now I use a synthetic was mit...I've been told I should get a 100% cotton one--is that right?
Also, what do I use for hand-applying wax? Meguiars gives you a little foam pad with their stuff, but is there something better that I could use?
Thanks-- always learning

Yep, synthetics are BAD news, whether in wash mitts or in toweling. They will usually scratch the crap out of the paint. So, it's best to use 100% cotton mitts and toweling. Viking, NAPA, and TW all make a cotton mitt, check your local parts stores or discount stores.
As for applicators, I use both foam and terry depending on the product I'm using. I'm using Viking and Meguiar's foams with Zaino and use cotton terry for polishing and swirl removal. I get my Vikings from AutoZone and WalMart recently started carrying Meguiar's foams apps in two packs. Either way works fine IMHO...

I always use a 100% cotton scrubber, or mit. Synthetics can scratch the paint.
For waxing, I use Zymol and apply it with whatever foam applicator I have laying around. I wet it first.
