Post washing a new paint job?

A friend at work just got his 5.0 mustang painted. It is black and it is clearcoated. I saw the car 1 day after it was painted and it is covered with dust. I told him he should probably wait for a week to wash it... any suggestions???

Use a car wash and use something made of cotton.

Cool

Kevin, you advised to "...use a car wash...". Did you mean a regular high power spray (do-it-yourself, not a drive through), using the carwash soap? I plan to Zaino my car when I get it back from the paint shop and I was also curious about the delay time before washing it. I don't have access to washing by hand facilities so I use the local car wash. Is the soap used in these too harsh or ok?
Thanks!

NO!!

No delay, 99% chance your body shop has already washed it anyway.

Don't use their soap, carry a bucket, your wash mit and your car wash with you, hand wash it and use the wand to rinse off the soap.

Thanks!
