Under Hood Cleaning on Z28

Hi people on the message board. I just bought a 96z I the engine compartment is filthy as can be. What is the best way to clean this baby. I would like to do a real nice job and use a pressure washer if possible. What do I need to cover like alternator coils any electricals? Any help would be great. Thanks for your time.

Pressure washing is a no, no on the LT1 engine. The optispark is susceptible to being ruined by too much water. Do a search on this forum and you'll find lots of hints and advice.

Your Z28 is your beater car? What's your prized car, a Ferarri?

I guess I shouldnt have called it a beater car I probably offended someone. I mean beater as in I can beat the heck out of it at the drag strip street road race it and not worry to much about hurting it just throw more money and mods into it and have a good time while working on it.
