Question True or false...good or bad?

You will find that "X product" will bead at first and then tend to sheet water as the amino-functional polymer hardens and completely cures. Amino functional polymers sheet water, provide UV protection and are an excellent protective coating. If you desire water beading you may top with a softer coating such as a quality carnauba.

Hmmm, I'm a bit confused. I've seen amino polymer products mostly bead water if they're any good, and I thought beading was a good thing. Sheeting is supposed to be a sign of little or no protection. For the technical gurus out there, do you agree/disagree with the quote and is this mostly BS?

I like beading. I uses mothers waxs, cleaners and polishes, and i am very satisfied. I think that claiming beading is bad is a sterotypical infomercail scam and is nothing more than an aproximated abreiviation of the partial truth.

Beading is a good thing, the tighter the bead the better the protection

Well, I completely agree with you guys! I've always thought beading was definitely a good sign of paint protection. However, I've run across some comments about certain waxes and polymers, like Meguiar's Gold Class, #26, BlackFire, platinum, etc, that say the products are actually designed to sheet water. I was wondering if this "designed" business is another easy marketing trick to cover up why the product didn't last long and starts sheeting. I think sheeting might be a good thing to help prevent water spots, but how would you ever know if the car is being protected with sheeting and water laying in pools...

Mike you get the prize. Any produst will sheet if you can run a flood of water over the surface, but that is not how rain comes from the sky. There is one product that claims to start off beading and then it switches to a sheeting action......... please, the sheeting starts when your protection stops.

Exclamation

Speaking of a lot of "sheet," here's another trick question: what do these products have in common?! Read carefully!

Thanks for the links Mike! I'm new at this obviously, and someone of your experience obviously knows better than I do at what is good. The second link down that you posted about Platinum looks interesting. I've heard about that before. The other two sites were all hyped up and over-priced. My other friends who swore by Zaino really liked Platinum and switched but I will stay with Z. Great minds think alike.

I'll just stick to my good old Zaino. Who needs stuff that looks as good as those products anyway? Z is good crap. In fact, I just found a site that offers the best prices on this crap on the internet. You can't beat deals like this with a stick. Check it out.

Awesome deal on this crap!

Funny you post a link about manure and Platinum in the same post. I totally agree, Platinum and the related products are BS! Thanks for clearing that up!

What's even funnier is that you can sell the same bottle of silicone for $25 when it isn't worth $10.....hahahahaha.

And even funnier still, it can't last 2 days without washing away! LMFAO! Genius engineering going on there....

Platinum/BF

I wouldn't know about mullets Mr. Mullet boy.

All I know is Z can last 10+ months on one or two coats.... Plat/BF is lucky if it lasts 10 DAYS on one or two coats. Nuff said....

Oh, if you need to find good crap, plat would be just your thing, b/c it's FULL of it.

No Mike. I told you I'm sticking with Z.

In second place I would have to pick paint sealant from www.autoint.com

You need a great mullet to go with your great personality.

You've gotta lot of room to talk about "great personalities" hiding under "Mullet." LoL! You must be pretty smart having made 3 posts and you know all about my personality.

I'm here to help and learn, what are you here to do?

And FWIW, stick with whatever you want, makes no difference whatsoever to me.

Goodbye!

The more beads the better for me. I like them tight. Zaino beads better than anything I've ever seen. It keeps beading longer too. Other polishes and waxes barely last a wash or two.

Heh,

Whoever says that BF and UPP are the same product is grossly uneducated and naive. There are some mullets running around spreading rumors like that.
Recognize this Mr Mullet boy? FWIW, I work at a headquarters of a $34 Billion company wearing a suit every day. Needless to say there aren't any mullets around here and there never have been. What's "uneducated and naive" is to claim your product is "oh so unique" when it's clearly the same. In fact, most of the educated people realize this. So, who are you fooling?

Maybe you'd like to read this too from more "grossly uneducated" detailers .... http://bimmer.roadfly.org/bmw/forums...e=1]Plat vs BF

CMA just about got caught with their pants down at the beginning anyhow. When BF was first introduced they touted how their chemist "Rick" had come up with these great "super polymers." Now, there's no mention of any "Rick" whatsoever by CMA, wonder why? Could it be he's with plat?? Hmmmm

LoL If you were honest it wouldn't be so bad, but as is, it's

Have fun!
