Is this supposed to happen?

My first clay bar just went to pieces while i was using it. And i applied a coat of ZFX, Z5,Z7 and still see some scratches. How many more coats would you recommend if befor i apply Z2?

As far as the clay, it sounds as if your lubricant was WAY too soapy, it can cause clay to do that. I actually rinse out the clay under the hose occassionally as I clay to keep that from happening. Also while rinsing the car or whatever else, do NOT leave the clay in the bucket, but in the plastic jar or on the cap, in between doing areas.

The swirlmarks getting filled will depend on how bad they are. The Z-5 will gradually fill them in with each layer. You can apply the Z-5 until you are satisfied, but there is no reason you can't add a coat of Z-2 Pro whenever you want, they are completely interchangeable. If the swirlmarks are really bad you may need to have them buffed out.

The Zaino you are using does not remove scratches. You might be able to fill the scratches in with repeated applications of Z5. Check Zaino's site, as I think they now have some kind of product for scratches.

Z-5 fills minor scratches, Zaino ZPC Dual Action Polish removes scratches because it contains an abrasive.
