I have heard to sure regular car wax on the wheels, would a metal polish be better? Are they painter?

They are painted, and clear coated. If they are in good shape, just keep some fresh zaino on them.. It will make it much easier to clean them..

If you have the stocker salad shooters, they are painted and clear coated, use no metal polish, wax and polish them just like the paint on the car.

For stock rims, I've have had alot of shine with a product called Brasso. It's been around for 50 some years. Your grandma probablly uses it to clean and polish her brass and silver ware. Works just like a wax and polish. Comes in a little tin can located in the cleaner section of a K-Mart or Walmart.

As I said above, if your wheels are painted or clear coated you should not be using a metal polish like Brasso.
