Spilt oil need help cleaning it up...

I accidentally spilt some oil on my engine I wiped as much as i could off but it is still smoking... I know it will burn off sooner or later but I don't feel like having to wait a week or too... Is there anything I can do to get it all off and make it stop smoking.

DO NOT wash that engine!!! In case you have not heard the distributors on these motors are on the front, and will have to most likely be replaces if it gets wet. That out of the way-how often do you drive, twice a year or something? Just drive it down some side roads with the windows down until it stops and suck up as much as you can w/ towels. It shouldnt take a week to burn off man

I washed my LT1 engine in my '94 Z28 all the time and never had to replace my distributor or had problems starting the car.

If you're too worried about flooding your distributor (not likely going to happen) then use some Simple Green to clean the leftover oil.

Thanks for the advice... The oil burnt off the next day and it doesn't smell or smoke any more... I still plan on cleaning up my engine bay. Does that Simple Green Stuff really work well? Thanks again.

Simple Green is non toxic and biodegradeable so you should be okay getting some on the paint in your bay.
