Scratches on leather seats

Looks like my wife drug her wedding rock across the headrest of my driver seat. It's got a nice scratch about 2 inches long. It's not a scuff. It actually went through the colored layer of the leather. Is there a way to reseal damage like this? I don't want it to get any worse. It's in a very visible spot, right where the back of my head hits the seat.

I would first dye it back to its propper state with shoe polish and then give it a good sealing with saddle soap or some other good leather protectant. this will make it less obvious, i wouldnt worry all too much about protecting the seat its like a leather jacket they last for years.
