Is it safe to clay a car with sparkles in clearcoat??

Is it safe to clay a car with sparkles in clearcoat??

I was wondering if this would hurt my car??? What does claying really do for your car??? thanks

The "sparkels" are the metallic paint in the base color coat. The clear is "clear". The clay removes contaminants from the surface. It won't harm the clear coat as long as you don't get dirt in the clay and scratch the surface that way. Make sure the car is COMPLETELY clean before you start claying. Place an old towel on the ground below the area you are working on in case you drop it, it won't pick up any dirt.
