rust

I'm new to rust, and camaros for that matter. I've just bought a 77 camaro, and I'm starting to wonder about getting rid of some of the body rust I have. There's a quarter sized hole in the door panel, not deep, but ugly, how can I save this panel? Do i need to replace it, or can it be sanded down and repainted? Furthermore, I have what looks like rust bubling up through my paint job on the roof of the car. I havn't seen any replacement car roofs, so I would be very interested in finding out how to fix that.
-Thanks

My recommendations, if you are not experianced in body repair, to take it to a local, respectible body shop experianced.

Most likely they are going to sand down the spots, possibly fix them with filler or welds and such, and then repaint the area.

Then you'll have to repaint the whole car
