Unhappy Removal of waterspots

Two weeks ago I made the mistake of not drying my car off after rinsing it off. I put the car into the garage afterwards so that it could dry off. In the morning I noticed waterspots. I actually did the same thing with my two GTPs (rinsed and let air dry). The next day I washed all three cars and was surprised to see that the waterspots were removed from the Grand Prixs but not the Firebird.

The Firebird was the only car with a recent wax job (two weeks old).

I used a clay bar to see if I could clean the paint but didn’t completely remove the spots.

I then re-waxed the car…this didn’t help either.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeff

Get some white vinegar and wipe the spots off with that using a cotton cloth....

Thanks KevinSS.

Would the white vinegar harm the clearcoat in any way? Should this procedure be followed by a wash and wax?

Thanks,
Jeff

Now would I tell ya something that would harm your clear coat? LOL No, I have used vinegar many times on paint, just wash and wax afterwards and you will be fine.

Tell me if it works. I might want to do it too.

Thanks!
