Question Refinishing stock aluminum wheels? chrome?

Is it worth it? Any ideas what it could/should cost? What I am looking to have done is to basically strip the factory clear coat off of my polished 2001 WS6 wheels, fix any imperfections/nicks/scratches in the surface, and high polish (and re-clear coat) or perhaps chrome (can aluminum be chromed?) . At this point I am just exploring my options and am debating whether or not it will be cheaper just to buy new wheels. It's not that I don't like these wheels, I would just like them freshened up a bit as when I bought them, they were not in "mint" condition and would like them to be as close to perfect as possible and high-polished, if not chromed. Suggestions? Thanks. -Jeff
