i could use a little help with the paint on my car. the car is red and it is a 94 and it looks like they never waxed it before, what kind of wax to use, i just want to bring back some what of a shine.

 

What you should do is,
Wash
Clay
Polish
Wax with something like NXT (looks great on red, but doesn't last long)
Most of the shine and paint restoration your looking for is in the prep work, ie. clay and polish. Waxing only, wont do much, if you just want to wax then use a cleaner wax like Mothers cleaner wax. If you want to get some really good stuff then you gotta get it online, but the stuff that I listed is all OTC.

 

Wash the car with "Dawn soap" real good.
Order some Zaino Z5 & Z2

Put a coat of Z5 on first, then apply couple coats of Z2 Pro

You should do some before and after pictures

 

Polishing the paint with an abrasive and/or cleaner will be the best thing to restore lost color, gloss, depth, etc.
