Quick Zaino Question

Ok, about a year and a half ago I Zaino'd my garage kept Z. At that time I:

- Washed twice with Dawn
- Clayed the car
- Put on both the Z2 and Z5 wax (alternating between the two) totaling 8 times combiined
- Used the gloss enhancer between each coat

Now that is has been so long, should I repeat the entire process (includiing the Dawn) or should I just clay the car and wax?

Also, how many coats of Zaino have you used at one time, limiting to 3 a day?

Thanks!
Dave

The Dawn is only used the first time you use Zaino to remove all the old wax. As far as claying goes, you don't have to clay that often especially since your car was garaged. Just feel the paint on the car and you should be able to tell if there's junk in the paint. My car is parked outside and I only need to clay it every 1 - 2 years.

I own a '99 SS, black, which is garage kept.

I did as you did; wash in Dawn, clay, Zaino,.....last year. I did Zaino it occassionally throughout the year as well.

This summer, I clayed it again, but it really did not need it...the yellow clay bar did not turn black at all, so I do not think you need to clay the car again.

As for how many coats to apply in one day, the maximum for a 24 hr. period is 3 coats. Otherwise, you're wasting it. If I'm applying 3 coats, I use 2 coats of Z5, followed by a coat of Z2.

Great, thanks for the advice! I will be putting 3 coats on a day. Luckily I don't have to drive the car until Saturday afternoon so I should be able to get in 12 coats of Z5/Z2 combined. Now this time after it's done I'll be taking pictures

Go ahead and clay it. I do mine every 6 months or so.

Can't hurt, only takes 5 minutes or so.
