Questions on washing and drying my car
Currently I use Meguiars Gold Class for all of my my car care needs (washing, waxing, etc). However, when this is all used up I plan on buying and using nothing but Zaino. I have been reading numerous posts on this and have not found anything negative on it.
Now on to the point. Right now I use a yellow wash sponge that you can buy at any auto parts store and am wondering if this is okay? I ask because in the posts that I have been reading I have seen that many recommend using a wash mitt. It should be said that after using the sponge, I clean it thoroughly and allow it to completely dry.
Finally, I have a product that most have seen or heard from known as "The Absorber", which was also purchased from Wal-Mart. At this time I am unsure what it made from. Will using this hurt my car?

Re: Questions on washing and drying my car
I personally use a wash mitt on my car because it was the softest thing the store had and i absolutely love it. I also use "the absorber" and I have no complaints about that either man.

Kevin V 2002 SS: A sponge is never recommended to be used. Get a good wash mitt.
Thanks for the advice but may I ask why the sponge is not recommended? Just wondering.
Re: Questions on washing and drying my car
A sponge isn't actually very soft, which can cause swirl marks and it has no nap for dirt which can cause swirl marks.
If you can't find a true 100% cotton wash mitt, the lambs wool ones are pretty good. I've been trying out a couple other types but not ready to recommend for or agaianst them. I still have about a dozen true 100% made in USA cotton mitts I bought from NAPA quite a while back that haven't been opened yet. I like to keep extra stuff on hand.

Thanks for the insight. I have also had trouble in locating a true 100% cotton towel. However, I have seen that DF towels claims to have some of the best around. I have not used none myself but you can check their website out at www.dftowel.com
Re: Questions on washing and drying my car
I use a cotton mitt as well but if you go to the Zaino web site there is section on towels and usage. In fact they suggest that you use only 100% cotton towels - made in USA; and there is a reason for this - to wash as well as dry and clean. Interesting piece.
