Question about WS6 rims

Sorry this is such a clueless question...but these are the first chrome rims I've ever owned.

In some areas of the rim, it appears that they sprayed on the chrome almost (I know this isn't how chrome is applied) ...but hmmph... It has dull areas and I'm concerned the chrome layer is at it's thinnest there. If I start polishing the bejesus outta em, that I might remove what's left? What exactly are 2000 WS6 rims? Alloy w/chrome plating? Argh....they look good for a 20/20....but not when you get really close

Re: Question about WS6 rims

So does this mean I might be able to get them refinished free of charge!? That'd rock
