problems with polished aluminum wheels

problems with polished aluminum wheels

when i went to clean my wheels today i noticed lots of black dots on my front wheels... im havin trouble gettin them out... any advice? thanks

even though you just cleaned your rims some brake dust could still be caked on try washing them agin with and bucket of hot water then dry completely and buy some mother aluminum mag polish and go over them with that(follow the directions) that is what i use on my 1991 and it works great for water spots and keeping brake dust off.

Could also be tar. Amonia will take this off with ease. But be warned this will take off the protective coat and a good quality wax will be needed on the wheels. Could also be pitting of the metal. this is not reversable

i had the small black dots on my wheels when my rear brakes went out. i still have them. haven't been able to get them out yet. they look like pieces of the pads burnt into the wheels. good thing i have a new set.
