powdercoating
#2
The curing process will not harm the calipers, they get +/- that hot when in hard braking. I recommend getting them powdercoated with a ceramic base paint or use VHT flameproof coating which is good to 2000 degrees farenheight. You ever have any more questions related to paint feel free to ask.

Not to hijack but....
I am doing heads and cam soon on my 95 z28 and I am going to the powder coater to spruce up the bay. My question is what can be safely powder coated and what can't? I bought a bunch of spare parts, alt bracket, smog bracket, brake booster resevoir, intake manifold, water pump, etc.
The three that concern me are the throttle body, water pump and brake boost resevoir.
Obviously the brake booster resevoir (i think thats what it is called? the piece mounted on the driver side firewall) has a plastic attachment on the metal piece, so that is out, but can it be detached and just the base painted? The throttle body has moving parts and I don't want to melt anything internal, but to be honest I don't know what pieces and materials are in there. The water pump obviously has bearings and I am assuming some sort of lubricant inside, and I don't want to burn it up.
Thanks for any input!

I wouldn't paint your throttle body unless you disassemble it and only paint the casting. You can powdercoat the water pump, just be sure to mask off the gear and coolant passages. As for the power brake booster, I wouldn't even consider removing it. I would just mask everything around it thoroughly and paint it. If you want to go to the trouble knock yourself out but to do it the right way takes a lot of time and anguish.
