Post polishing rims

I have a set of the 2000 polished vette rims on my z, over the last year they have lost some of there shine, cause of my laziniess and not wanting to polish them as much as they should be. should i be a polishing wheel to put on a drill and fix them back up. any downsides or dnagers in doing this. what brand or wheel should i look for.

thanks in advance

C5 Vette wheels are ALL clear coated from the factory, not knowing this CAN cause the owner not to know how to properly clean and treat them, this is what sometimes causes the cloudiness.

You can forget polishing wheels, buffer pads, metal polishes, all of that.

You will need to work on them as if they where the paint on your hood, use a mild polishing compound like 3M Swirl Mark Remover part number 39009 and follow up with your regular paint wax or polish.
