Paint the stock wheels?
Paint the stock wheels?
I just want to paint them black, why? I dont know, i like the black wheel look, makes me think its a real performance car. Anyways i do have a black car with small accents here and there, I know it will look like its blacked out but I am not going for that, but it will happen, meh. So can I just paint over the stock wheels with wheel paint in rattle can?

I would recommend powder coating them over spray paint
Will hold up much better, and you can get all kinds of variations, maybe even tape of the edge and only paint the spokes black, and the edge a different color.
I have black Z06 rims and the outer edge is chrome, and it really sets it off much better

I would try to find a set of painted stock wheels, not chrome wheels to paint. Chrome is much harder to prep for paint than the stock painted wheels, not to mention, if you don't like the look of the ones you painted, you still have the chrome wheels to stick back on.

If they are chrome I would think that any paint would chip right off.
If they are not chrome I would paint them at least you can touch them up if you get a chip or a scratch from a rim weight.
Sandblast then powdercoat.
You could also hand sand them or possibly acid etch the chrome with muratic acid.
Or just rattlecan them then when they scratch or whatever just touch them up with more paint
