Paint Discoloration

Driving back from Florida this weekend I noticed something got splased on the nose of my car that discolored and in some spots "melted" the paint. Only thing I've ever seen do anything like this was brake fluid. Is there anyway to fix it or am I looking at a new paint job on the nose of my car?

Brake fluid does that Unfortunately, it may require a repaint. Try a compound first maybe? Can you get us a picture?

It could also have been a pack of love bugs (they are in FL) If you hit them and do not wash off immediately the acids in the bugs body can do the kind of damage you report......

Try a polishing or rubbing compound and if that does not help, a repaint will be in order.
