Offer your clay Bar tips... going to do my Black Z this weekend!

Please offer any tips or advice you have... dont want to mess it up.

Instructions on the box seem simple enough. I have to do it because there are spots on my car that wont come off... they look like waterspots but are from a tree or bird in the tree (I know exactly when they were put there)

I will strip it down with a good dishsop washing and then claybar it. Then, Meguiars Show car glaze and then Deep Crystal Wax.

I'd Zaino it, but I dont want to drop 50 bucks and then have to reorder stuff. Kind of wish it was sold in stores.

The Deep Crystal is a cleaner wax, it will remove the Meguiars #7 Show Car Glaze....

If the spots have been there a while the clay probably will not touch them.....

BTW, you don't need 50 dollars worth of Zaino to do what you have listed, you need Z-1 = 8.95 and Z-2= 12.95 total 21.90

Bought the deep crystal step 3 because it didnt list a cleaning property on its label. They reccomend you polish it, then put on #3... or are they BS'in me?

the spots have been on it for 3 weeks... it has been garaged 99% of the time since then.

Plus shipping... (ok 50 bucks was an exaggeration) Like I said, it is a fine product and I know satisfied users, but if I cant go buy more readily then I am not interested in it. Maybe when I show my car and retire it from the commute...

I have called them before, and asked if using their waxes and glazes which one will remove the other and they really do not know, either removes the other basically.

The deep crystal you have is 15% Napatha (a cleaner product, a solvent) how do I know, research, see here:

Thanks... any alternatives (non zaino since I want to do it this weekend) that you would suggest?

If I was using your system I would use a straight wax (non cleaner to seal in the glaze) A couple I can think of are P21S (S100 is the same thing) and Mothers makes a non cleaner carnauba (hard to remove) Duragloss is also supposed to have a non cleaner non abrasive polish of some type that might work well over the glaze....

I used the Meguiars clay bar kit on my SS a couple of weeks ago. First let me say I was damn surprised how I never did it before. Just like they claim, the paint felt like glass. Complete one section and gently rub your hand over it. Now feel a section that you didn't do. Nite and day. Afterwards I used the Meguiars Gold Class Wax. Very nice combination. If you're going to go the store bought wax way, this is pretty damn good, especially for the price.

I washed the car as completely as I could, hand dried, clay barred, and then waxed. Make sure the clay is lubricated at all times otherwise the clay will smudge on the paint, just making more work for you. Let the clay follow the curves on the body, don't force it into spots. Take your time. It's a time consuming job, but you'll be very happy with the results. I just did a small section on the Z28 and I was very surprised the amount of dirt that came up into the clay and how the paint felt afterwards. I can't wait to do the whole car now!

Oh yeah, the rear fascia/bumper will be the most dirty (at least for me it was). You may have to do that a couple of times.

I did my car a few weeks ago with a meguiar's quik detailing clay bar with the spray.....after that waxed it with mother's carnauba cleaner wax (paste), came real nice but took me 8 hours (including washing/drying)
The other day, I did my car with Meguiar's Gold Class paste wax and I was very impressed....
