Talking No more swirl marks!!!!

Well I have a black car so that means I have swirl marks. After a whole lot of money spent on products and all the time of using them, I think I fianally found a process to get rid of the swirl marks. Well first I washed the car with dawn and then what I did is instead of appling 3M swirl mark remover by hand or by rotary buffer, I took out the random orbital buffer with a normal cotton bonnet and spread the 3M over the paint and then instead of letting the buffer do the work, as fast I could and with some pressure I pulled the buffer back and forth over the surface until the 3M was totally off, then took a towel and wiped the surface off. It took all of the swirls off it looks perfect!

I think it worked so well since the directions say go back and forth but swirl marks go in all directions, so random orbital was perfect. Well I only did the hood and a fender, so I'll take some before and after pics and put them up.

Thanks very much for this info - I too have a black car - actually a few of them, so this is a concern for me as well. I will have to give this stuff a shot.

I used the 3M by hand on my hood.
Got rid on the bigger ones while adding
tons of finer ones. After a few coats of Z5
it did look better but it would have anyway.
I don't know if I pressed to hard with the
3M but I was disappointed.

I use a craftsman 10"
And when I use the 3M rubbing compound it does get rid of larger ones but leave the smaller one thats what th '3M Finish Restorer and Swirl Mark Remover' is for, but when I used it by hand I would only make very little progress since I would only go back and forth but swilr marks go in all directions.
