New Zaino user....

Weel I finally gave in and decided to buy some zaino products. They should actualy be in today sometime. I bought the clay bar, and all the other bottles except the car wash. Does it matter that I did not buy the car wash? I have some meguires car wash. Second, does anyone have any tips to help me make my car look best? Any tips will help.

You can use other brands of car wash as long as they do not contain wax, but I think Z-7 is one of the best Zaino products, I would want it if I where you.

Have you read all the tips and applications on www.zainobros.com ?

Your towels will make or break your finish, bad towels equals bad results.......

I agree with Kevin. The Z7 wash is one of my favorite Zaino products! In fact, if I had to live on the bare essentials, it would be a bottle of polish and a bottle of the showcar wash. The Z7 really enhances the Z shine and cleans well. Great product! However, it will not hurt the Zaino polish to use another wash product. Heck, even the strong DAWN dish soap will not remove Zaino!

Like Kevin said, read up at the home site at www.zainobros.com Also, you might want to check out www.lazaino.com for even more tips, tricks, and application issues.

Basically, in a nutshell, you'll want to:
1) Wash car with DAWN
2) Clay car
2.5) Do any necessary prep work, like swirl removing, paint cleansing, etc.... If you car needs prep, I would not skip this very important step!
3) Use Z6 on entire car
4) Apply polish (if you bought Z1, apply it first, then Z2 or Z5 on top.....if you got ZFX, just simply mix up some polish and go at it! )
5) Admire car, but don't drool on fresh Zaino!

I feel like Steve Martin in the movie "The Jerk"...

if I had to live on the bare essentials... yes, yes, and a bottle of Z6! In fact, the 97TA has a bottle-wedge mark in the driver's rear seat where I shove a bottle between the "seat" and the bottom of the pillar, plus one in the "bag"... oh never mind.

My vote: either Z2 or Z5, Z6 and definitely Z7.

I even use the Z7 on my non-zaino vehicles. Cleans and doesn't streak.

Is it really that good? Will it actually produce a better shine then just a regular wax?

Yes, all ZFX bottles are approximately half filled.

Check it out: http://community.webshots.com/photo/...76856690eyiFNg

Or if you look closely, you can also see it here: http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/...ory_Code=Zaino

Not to worry though, as the ZFX will treat at least 2 full bottles of Zaino polish. It lasts much longer than you would think.

Out of curiosity, why do they do that to us?

Well shine is a pretty subjective thing to some people. However, having tried literally dozens of other wax products over the years, I would say Zaino absoutely looks better to "ME" than anything I have used in the past. But, that's only half of the Zaino story. The other half is that the incredible "showcar-like" shine lasts for months (with proper maintainence i.e. washing, QDing), not weeks like most products. Zaino is also the most protective product on the market, which is also in part why the shine lasts so long.

Zaino contains no actual "wax" so it's not really fair to even compare it to other true wax products. Zaino will outlast and outshine them by a long shot. These are also the reasons Zaino ranks #1 in most enthusiast wax tests, such as www.gurureports.org and in most major car forums like this one.

Zaino is a pretty unique product, and if it weren't the "best" for my car, I wouldn't use it. Demand the best, use the best!

Hope this helps

Mike

I honestly do not know. I'm just guessing here, but the ZFX chemical is pretty unique and to keep the cost down to the customers for 1 ZFX "kit" maybe Sal decided to only half fill it. Since the half-filled ZFX bottle already treats 2 bottles of polish, maybe Sal decided that there are some Zaino users that only use the products a few times a year for protection and would not need enough ZFX to treat 4+ bottles at one time, thus giving us (the consumer( a choice. Like I said, I do not know the actual purpose behind this, but Sal puts extensive testing and thought behind his products before they are brought to market so I'm sure there was a logical reasoning for it.

This is one of my biggest questions:

I think I bought all I need:

Z1 polish lok
Z2 car polish
Z5 swirl remover
Z6 gloss enhancer
Z18 clay bar
ZFX

I was told that the ZFX is actually a lot better than using the Z1 as the whole base coat thing. Would it be best for me to return the Z1 and buy some of the Z7 car wash instead? Would it be of any advantages to go ahead and use the Z1 as well as the ZFX?

You do not need both Z1 and ZFX. It's one or the other. ZFX is my choice, and probably almost everyone else's because it bonds and dries faster than Z1.

So is it basically agreed upon that I should not use the Z1 and only use the ZFX/Z2 and ZFX/Z5 combination and return the Z1? This will give me a better shine correct?

I don't know that the shine will be better, but it speeds up the process. With ZFX, by the time you get through applying the polish, it will probably be dry and ready to buff. With Z1, it could take quite a while to dry, depending on temperature/humidity.

You do get a better shine with the ZFX additive.
