Need tips on car shows
Need tips on car shows
It looks like I am going to try the car show gig out. My car is really starting to come along with NXT and my hunderds of dollars worth of detailing equipment is starting to pay off.
What do the judges really look at?
Its a daily driver and it has lots of paint cuts in the hood from what I think was sand (had a lot of paint externally in the radiator when I got the car) a few small scratches here and there, interior has a crack or two nothing major and in the back under the hatch the plastic has a few gouges. Two wheels have a little curb rash and thats about it, engine bay looks great and is getting even better, about to swap in LS1 brakes with painted rotors and about to steam clean the interior.
On nice days the car looks great after I am done and I get a TON of compliments on the car and I have yet to start using show car shine and the NXT combo, just step 2 and NXT.
I don't really care about wining but I would like to place good. A few guys I have talked to said I should do good because a lot of shows have nice cars but also rust hole cars.
Is there any areas I should concentrate on?
Thanks

Most judges love attn to detail. Little differences to set your car apart w/o overkilling it. Billet aluminum parts always score high. Well, their cost is high so I guess that helps explain it. I love painted door handles and smooth locks! Make sure there is no dust in your air vents and shine the back of your rear view mirror!
