Anyone used the Mothers Power Ball on their polished billet aluminum wheels?
Does it work? I find it a royal pain trying to keep a mirror finish on my wheels.

Where did you purchase it and how much $ ?
Which polish did you use with it?

A buddy of mine bought one for his Yukon. Polished Aluminum Wheels. Anyway it works ok, but it holds a lot of polish in the ball(wasted polish). I wouldn't buy one, but it does work on the smooth part of the wheel.
btw it's like 20 dollars

 

for someone like myself that spends an easy 4 hours per a wheel i'd say it's worth it. it won't bring it back to "new" status but it easily cuts my time down 2/3 of the way. i still prefer to go over the wheel by hand for shows but for weekly touchups and whatnot it's a great way to save time. as far as the polishing i would recommend you use what they sell for it. i have no idea why it makes a difference but all of my good hand polishes do not work at all with it. so i just use their specific labeled power ball billet polish.

 

I love my power ball. And like Jeff says, if you actually spend alot of time on your wheels already, this will save you oodles of time

 

Thanks for the replies. I ordered the 2-pack with the aluminum polish the other day, they came yesterday.
I usually only clean my aluminum wheels with soap and water and towel dry and only break out the hand polish about twice a year since it takes 3-4 hours to do them...so maybe this will make that job alot easier and I can keep them polished longer.....I also apply was to them once polished to help keep the water spots off...

Anyone tried that Zoop Seal thats suppose to seal the metal for up to 1 year so you don't have to polish them often? It's a litte pricey at about $125 for the kit.

Who in the world spends 4 hours at cleaning a wheel . Do you not have hands and are using your feet ???

it's a labor of love, there not quite 20's... they're 10's but i keep'em clean.

 

I finally broke out the ball and it did clean up the rims very nicely. I also found that the Mother Power Aluminum cleaner works very well even by hand since I had some tight spots to get to...better than any other polish I have used.
The Power Ball though does not work well in those tight spots as the ball is alot larger than I expected.

if I pressed it hard enough to buff the spikes, it would quickly start chewing up the ball, its not the most durable thing, its just foam kind of liek a sponge....but works great on the flat areas and wide spokes.

Took me exactly 30 minutes to do 4 of the wheels above and they look better than they ever have since new!
