LOL electrical tape on the outside of the car, will it last/hurt anything?

Sorry its G6 related...

But someone blacked out a crapy chrome strip on the G6, and I kind of liked the look, so I decided to give it a test run to see what its like and threw on some electrical tape(yeah I know ghettoe but wanted to see what it looked like)

You guys know a place I can get some vinyl in a roll for pretty cheap?

not my car but the idea... Chrome trim just below the windows.

Are there not 'rolls' of decorative pin striping that come in standard desings available at say Target, WalMart, etc?

I know I have some silver 5 strip pin striping in a roll that I used on a truck that I no longer have.

If not, maybe a paint/graphics/sign shop?

Hope this helps...

Jeff

I looked ofr some, I remember getting some back in the day at like pepboys. Haven't tried like walmart but nothing thus far, but oddly, tap, even with a "courtesy tab" on it hanging in the doorjam, made it through several rainy days and several 90*+ days.

People do it to the 94-96 impala's all the time. looks excellent! you can't even tell it is on there. I think they use the 3m stuff. Check the impala forums.

when i had my 93 tbird sc the rear bumper had some black trim that started to chip showing yellow behind it. i knew someone who worked at a vinyl shop and he was able to lay vinyl over it and make it look black again. you might try getting some of that. the back bumper trim can be seen in this pic. (the door pieces were only a couple years old when this pic was taken since the sides of the car were painted. the rear bumper trim was slightly less gloss than the factory but not really noticeable)

this pic shows it a little bit better. the silver SC on the right had the factory original trim, while mine had the vinyl layed over it. I don't mean the "Thunderbird SC" lettering. That was painted at some point on mine before i bought it. i'm referring to the black strip on the bumper.
