light scratches
light scratches
I have a couple light scratches and swirls on my car that are only visable in certain lighting. Im sure most people wouldnt be bothered by them but I am very **** about my car
I was wondering what is a good product to get rid of them permanently. I have tried all the products at kragen but the scratches reappear. I have a professional buffer but I dont want to use it on my "good" car because I am affraid I will burn through the paint. I was going pay a professional to buff it out with a mechanical buffer but I'd rather not. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: light scratches
You should look to get 3M paint cleaning products like their fine cut compound or the swirl mark remover.
I am not sure to what degree is your swirling, but what I would try first is to go over an area that has swirling with a really good paint cleaner. 3M will also have good paint cleaners that are less abrasive, but you can also try Mothers California Gold Paint Cleaner or (I prefer) Gliptone's pro buff. I used to deal with occasional swirling on my other car during the winter when it wasn't being waxed and when I ran it thru a car wash, and in the spring I would re-prep the paint starting with the paint cleaner. I had success doing it that way.
If your swirls are very noticeable or severe, then try the 3m products either with a pc/rotary, or by hand. Good luck.

Re: light scratches
If you havent had any luck with off the shelf stuff, it may be time for some internet shopping. Also consider the purchase of a Porter Cable Random Orbital polisher (7424) for your upkeep. There easy to use, and usage enables a better selection of products to use for particular needs. Swirl mark removal is nearly impossible without one.
