Post Leather Quality / Cracking.

Has anyone else have problems with the leather in the seats "cracking". My car is almost 2 years old and the seats have those little crack marks on the side. I've been told that GM does not use the best quality leather by far, but should they already be showing these signs this soon?

Creases and wrinkles are different than cracking, wrinkles are normal, cracking (holes) are not. You should treat your seats at least once a month with a leather conditioner, more if your car sits in the sun or gets driven everyday, then you should treat your drivers seat as often as once a week or two weeks.

Thumbs up

You should treat your seats with a conditioner maybe once a month with something like Lexol and weekly with a silicone free protectant (303 aerospace Protectant - this can be found at most marine supply stores). The 303 has an additive that protects the leather and vinyl from UV radiation.. sunscreen for your car .

Our Zaino Z-9 is the cleaner spray which I would HIGHLY recommend doing first if you have not cleaned and conditioner your car's leather in that amount of time, and then apply Zaino Z-10 Leather in a Bottle conditioner and wipe it into the leather until you can not see it anymore. Z-10 already contains a UV-40 blocker so there is no need (and not recommended) to use another product in conjunction with Z-10 other than Z-9. Our Z-10 was picked as the top leather conditioner in a test done in the May 1999 issue of Corvette Fever magazine.
