Question Keyed ... HELP.

Ok ... so almost every panel of my Camaro was keyed. What kind of money are we talking for repair? Can they do just the keyed marks or do I have to have the whole car repainted?

Re: Keyed ... HELP.

Each panel where there is a mark will have to be resprayed, to do the whole car would probably be about 1500 to 2000. Why dont you report it to the law and have a police report written up and carry that to your insurance agent. Did you do this as soon as it happened?

Re: Keyed ... HELP.

I did get a police report done on it. In fact I know who did it, but I have no proof. Also, my parents paid for my car in full so I only keep Liability Insurance on it.

Sorry to hear it. I know what it feels like (past experience). It is always someone that either doesn't like you or what you are driving.

I hope you can get your paint redone. Good luck.

Re: Keyed ... HELP.

Thanks. I'm sure it's going to cost more than I think. To think all this damaged was because I told a 17 year old girl to stop calling the house at 3am.

Sorry man. Yes I've been there too. Girls are the devil, some have no respect for a dude's car.

edit: Once I was quoted 3000-3500 for the whole car, but this was for a good decent quality paint job.

Re: Keyed ... HELP.

I'm a girl.

But I was actually at my X boyfriends house and these little girls kept calling his little brother until they woke me and their Mom up at 3am. I guess since my car was the only car in the street ... I got the shaft.

yes whatever the reason it still hurts, you just don't mess with someone's car.

good luck

I agree! It's just shady to mess with someones car, house or job.

Re: Keyed ... HELP.

I remember asking my body man that painted my 69 Mach 1 what would happen if it was ever keyed could he fix it with out paint it. He said that he could brush in some paint in the scratches and then wet sand it and buff it and make them disappear. He told me he did it on one persons car and they thought he repainted the whole panel. He does amazing thing, and i believe he could do it. He did resurrect my Mach 1 from the grave.

Re: Keyed ... HELP.

when my car got keyed my insurance would have taken care of it and all i had was liability. Might want to call and ask your insurance about it. If your covered for vandalism...
