Kevin or Mike ?Washing Ziano Pads and Towels
Kevin or Mike ?Washing Ziano Pads and Towels
My Wife and I just bought a new expensive front load washing machine. We are concerned about washing these Items in this new machine. The manual says not to was any wax or solvent rags or towels.I assured her Zaino will be fine but I told her I would ask....Thanks Mark
Hey Mark,
I only wash the towels in the machine, since the residues are pretty light. For the applicators, I like to hand wash them in a sink with warm/hot water, alcohol, and dish soap. Machine washing pads is usually too rough on them causing premature deterioration. And, I think there's more of a chance of getting a residue buildup in the machine with the app pads than the towels, since the pads soak up liquid product, whereas the towels have a light dried residue. I like to give my towels a good wash with liquid detergent, then give 'em a good rinse to wash away any left over residue. Never noticed any problems, but our machine is probably not as advanced as your new one.
As far as solvent goes, I think only the app pads would contain any residual solvent. Zaino polish is a pretty low solvent product anyhow, and most of that evaporates after it's dried and buffed. So, the only other issue might be the remaining polish residue. I find the residue pretty light in the towels so I don't worry about it either.
Does the manual specify what types of waxes or solvents are prohibited, or just all types in general? I believe the only solvent in Zaino is the light mineral spirit, the rest being the polymer base.
HTH!
