Post Keeping chrome wheels clean

What do you guys use to keep your chrome wheels shiny and clean? Some people I know have chrome wheels but they turn dull after a while and I was wondering how I can make sure to keep them shiny. thanks

Keep them washed with car wash and waxed, don't use the spray on acid based wheel cleaners.

Yeah, what Kevin said.. IMPORTANT!!!! Do not keep them on during the Winter.. The salt on the roads will screw them up.. I speak from first hand experience. I had to get one of my new wheels rechromed, and it was not cheap.

go to Home Depot and buy this stuff called "MAAS" it's a metal cleaner/polisher and I gotta say it's incredible. my mom uses it on her silver dishes, my buddy uses it on his chrome wheels, i use it on my dad's chrome wheel's...i use it on all my client's chrome/metal parts...it's some of the best stuff i've ever used.

I have two complete sets.

The chrome ones I run in the summer months and the silver ones with Blizzaks I run in the winter.

I Zaino all my wheels on my SS, truck and Harley. Makes them VERY easy to keep clean.

Yes!!! easy way to fug up a wheel fast...

I wash mine frequently and in between polishes I just use a non-ammoninated glass cleaner, then polish once a month or so. System seems to work well.

Re: Keeping chrome wheels clean

before i bring my car out for the summer i use 0000 steel wool to remove any grime on them and the use some type of wax or polish to protect them. quadruple zero steel wool will not scratch chrome. you can also use it on glass. DO NOT use it on mirrors.

The glass polish is very abrasive, kinda like a metal polish...but maybe more abrasive. It's really gritty stuff and I don't know if I would use it on shiny chrome wheels.

I am not sure I would either, but it's on a few of the Vette forums...just curious if anybody here has actually tried it?
