Just painted, now questions.

I just painted my car myself with a single stage acrylic enamel paint yesterday. Do I need to wetsand soon or should I wait a certain period? And what grit to use for wetsand?

Also, my paintjob looks like poop. It has spots that have more shine than others and I have some runs. Is wetsanding going to do enough to help make that stuff less noticable?
It was my first paintjob, and once I started I found out I had no clue what I was doing. I played with the sttings on my gun until i thought they were ok, but couldnt figure out what I was looking for the pattern or spray to look like so I didnt know how to adjust to correct it. And I think my compressor was set too high. The gun recomended 3.5-5.3 BAR! WTF? So i guessed and set it at 40 psi. So if someone can give me quick rundown of how to adjust a gun and what to look for when you start spraying that would be awesome.

1 BAR = 14.5psi

Wetsanding should smooth it out quite a bit, but it depends how bad it is....should have gotten a junkyard panel to practice on first.
