inside glass and front bumper (bugs and rocks)

I have been having these problems for a while now and I figure that most of you will have a good solution. Every time i wash my car, I windex my front glass. Well when it comes to the inside, it is close quarters and very hard to get that "streak free shine." Any tips on how to wash the inside easily without it streaking to where anybodys headlights at night ruins my vision of anything in front of me . Also, I have a serious problem with bugs on my front bumper. It has little craters in the paint and white spots all over. I am considering getting it repainted because it is pretty bad. would a claybar work? oh yeah one more thing, my tailpipes pick up dirt like nothing ive ever seen before and the chrome loses its shine very fast. is there anything that may protect my vehicle from this? thanks

For the inside glass, I'd recommend a microfiber towel and a quality glass cleaner. You can get some cheapie MF towels locally that work OK on glass, but don't use them on paint! I've seen them at places like Autozone, Walmart, O'Reiley's, etc... The ones from AutoZone are fine for glass and interior work, and I've seen the Viking brand of MF at O'Reiley's stores, so they should be fine too on glass. These towels alone with just water would probably work better than Windex plus a common glass cleaner, that's how good MF is at cleaning. Of course a good quality cleaner like Stoner's Invisible Glass or DuraGloss Glass Cleaner will clean the glass too and should leave it 100% streak free and crystal clear. I've seen Stoner's everywhere and the DG can be found at some NAPA stores and most CarQuest stores.

You can try the clay on the bumper, but honestly, it sounds like the etching is too far gone for the clay to do any good. It won't hurt to try, of course, but it sounds like the damage is already done. If clay doesn't work, you could try a medium to heavy abrasive as your last resort to having it professionally repaired.

For shining up the chrome pipes, all you'll probably need is some Eagle1 NevrDull wadding. After you polish them up, apply a little wax and this will help some. You'll really need to apply a synthetic "wax" because a carnauba will melt instantly from the heat and provide no protection. Polymer products like Zaino and Klasse can withstand temps up to 500 degrees.....

HTH!

This may sound silly but it works, I use newspaper (preferably with no color ads, just black and white) with windex. It's a trick I picked up from an auto detailer, leaves NO streaks and cleans better than using paper towels, cotton towels etc.... Plus its free!!!

Give it a try sometime you may be surprised.

Cool

basically, take a sheet fold it up a few times until it fits in your hand, spray the windex or whatever on the windshield and wipe off. I turn the paper over frequently to a dry side to absorb the window cleaner. It works great and leaves no streaks whatsoever.

This is just my method, you'll go through a few sheets as it gets sogged down but like I mentioned above, its FREE

Just try it, if you don't like it do whatever you normally do. It wont leave ink on the windshield, if it did I wouldn't be using it....
