How can I keep tree sap from sticking on my paint?
How can I keep tree sap from sticking on my paint?
There probably isn't anything I can do, but I'll ask anyways. I wax it all the time and wash it once a week but that doesn't work. I park outside and it's a black car, so the paint gets realy hot in the sun. Any ideas?
You're right, there isn't much you can do. Try to park away from trees is the best thing, if possible. Other than that, you might use a product that leaves the finish very slick so things will have a harder time bonding and sticking to the paint. If you are using carnauba or other natural wax, things will stick harder to the paint. Try using synthetic waxes or polishes. Contaminants have a harder time bonding and sticking to a polymer than a wax...
This may sound fairly obvious, but if you have a car cover, that would help. However, you'd have to make sure the surface of your car was dust free every day/night.
Sounds like you're fighting a losing battle. Chainsaw time.
