The paint on my hood is starting to turn yellow in a few spots. it's only in the thin spots of the hood where there is no support. for a pic of what i'm talking about, go to this link and scroll all the way down: http://www.fbody.com/cgi-bin/lt1/read.cgi?msgid=215613 What can i use to try to get my paint white again?, i've already tried wax.

 

I wonder if, for some reason, the heat as affecting the paint? Not sure why it would on your car when it doesn't on any of mine and I don't have the hood insulation either.

Its either the clear coat is yellowing or the painted base coat itself. You can never touch the base coat as it is sealed by the clear coat so you can not help it. You can try a fine rubbing compound in a small area to see if it will brighten up the clear coat...

 

any particular brand of rubbing compound?

it sucks cause i really think it is the base coat but hopefully i'll get lucky and find out it isn't
