My t-top got busted in and I had to tape some plastic over the top, while it was raining on me. I put packaging tape on it b/c it was the closest thing I could find. After taking the tape off there is adhesive left on the top. I tried some adhesive remover from the local auto parts store, didn't work a bit. Am I doomed to have it repainted? what other methods should I try?

and no, it wont harm your paint...

you may have to use WD40 multiple times, but it'll slowly get it off without harming the paint.


you could also try "goo gone" or even regular dish soap.... athough if you use dish soap, you'll have to rewax the car.

I've applied to WD40 twice, each time letting it sit for a while. about 10$ of the crap has come off, and the rest is really being a PITA. Guess I'll keep trying.

Would Goo gone work faster?
