got some stuff
I just got The Meguairs Gold Class Liquid Wax, Meguiars Quik Detaler and Mother Clay bar, any hints on how to use them for best performance. Just bought em getting ready to do it Memorial Day.
For carnuba products, Meguiars is pretty good. Thats what I used to use on my car and what I still use on clients cars for the most part. As for usage tips, here are a few. Prep work is the most important thing you can do. Wash the car with Dawn dishsoap to remove all the old wax and crap. Use the showtime detailer that came with the clay bar and do small sections at a time, ie. doors, hood, hatch, fenders, etc. As soon as you are done claying that section, wash it off. DO NOT use any kind of sopay water solution as a spray lube for the mothers clay bar. It will die a horrible death. Trust me here.
When you start waxing, use thin coats. This will give you better results and lower your drying time. Dont use a circular motion to apply it. On the hood, roof and hatch, go front to back. On side panels, go straight up and down. Typical drying time is usually around an hour. If it smudges when you try and take it off, its not dry yet. Use some good towels to take the wax off. Thats about all there is! Good luck!
