Getting clear coat without body work?

The new hood will be going on soon so the front end will get a repaint and the fenders will be blended. I don't have near enough for a complete repaint plus the body work but I saw these pictures and wanted my car to look as good. Would it be okay to get a whole new clearcoat added to the whole car without doing any other work to it?

Anywhere new clear is sprayed must be preped, sanded, and scuffed for the clear coat to stick.
