Funk on top of back bumper?

Just wondering if all f-bodies really build up alot of funk on the top of the rear bumper?

I know my 94 was bad, but I never really claybared or did anything crazy with it.

Now my '00 is rough, I got it alot better but I probably spent 30 min, just on my bumper with a claybar and still have stuff on there. Just wondering if its a common problem area.

Yes, it's a dirt and dust magnet.

Definitely. Funny thing is, I think a lot of it has to do with the rear spoiler. A friend has a Trans Am convertible. After we take our cars out for a drive, his back bumper is still clean, while mine (I have a coupe with the big spoiler) is thick with dust and road dirt.

Same here.. If it rains and I am on the highway then stops raining. The car can be almost clean but the back bumper is usually filthy. Probably because of the spoiler.

Wax on Flat balck

My well-meaning brother put wax on my mom's Pontiac. Trouble is he put wax on the flat black patic wheel trim. It's been a year and there's still a was residue. How can I remove this???

Sometimes peanut butter will remove wax. Something about the oils.

I recall hearing back in high school punk kids would throw peanut butter on cars to pass the time. It definitely got the wax off from what I heard. I've never seen it first hand, but I'd be a lil leary unless you have first hand experience.

I have a arctic white Z and just kept applyin' the clay bar method and have had successful results.

Goodluck!

My Z's back bumper has a lot of stuff embedded in it. But my paint job has gone to crap on that car anyway. It's due for a repaint.

A detailer once showed me using a rough brissle scrubbing brush dry took wax out of the plastic trim, it works on my Fathers Tahoe black trim!

Yes, when I had my 98 camaro the rear bumper was ALWAYS dirty! It drove me crazy since I was very ontop of keeping that car clean.
