Post Driver Side Leather Problem..

I have noticed on all the 4th gens I have seen that have leather on the driver side seat near the door is all worn out...

Since my car has low low milage its not bad but I can see where its starting to happen. I use Zaino Leather Cleaner every couple days and it helps. Anything I can do to stop it from doing this??

I think it does this because that spot is rubbed up against everytime you get in and out of the car..

Do you also have the leather conditioner which would be the Z-10, z-9 would be the cleaner.

You are right when you say its from getting in the car. This is what I do. When I get in I dont ride the upper seat and then plop down onto the seat bottom.Thats what wears that area out.I plant my rear on the seat bottom and spin my legs around....Try it. I trie out a used 95 T/A and there was not much left of the seat.....Hope this and Zaino help....Mark

Yes sadly this is one thing on the problem area's list. GM uses cheap crappy leather. Mine has the same issue. I use leather conditioner and it helps for a few days. I really don't know if it will eventually tear there or not. If so I guess I will recover them with GOOD LEATHER.

My '98Z Driver's Seat Side bolster showed severe wear after only 11K miles. I was well aware of the crappy quality since it was my second 4th Gen F-Body. I took it in and the dealer sent it to a local trim shop that only replaced the leather on the side bolster. it was perfect and you couldn't ell it had been worked on. they used much better leather then the factory did. when I traded it a few weeks ago it had 40K miles on it and looked brand new.

As mentioned already- the leather GM puts in the f-bodys suck! Whenever I get in my car I just kinda plop my a$$ in the middle of the seat and I try not to move much. When I get out I lift my legs over the bolster and try not to drag myslef across the seat too much.
