Cleaning wheels
Recently while cleaning my wheels I've noticed some light black spots on my wheels that don't wash off. It's as if they're stained on them. Anyone have the same thing happen to their wheels? What should I try to clean them up with?
Thanks.

I'd try Eagle1's NevrDull first, since it's the easiest and cheapest. It is basically nothing more than cotton wadding with chemical cleaners, but it does do the trick for cleaning metal surfaces. You also may want to try a clay bar if you have one. You could tear off a small piece just for the wheels. Clay is definitely handy to have around, as it has more uses than just paint prep. Lastly, a good metal polish is always handy too. I like Meguiar's, and Blue Magic.

Those flecks may be road tar. We get that a lot around here with the counties new non-paving road re-surfacing methods. Uck.
If that's what it is, you might find that WD-40, mineral spirits, or lighter fluid to be quicker at removing them on bare wheels.
Be careful using them on painted wheels, although in most cases it will be fine.
The sooner you remove tar spots, the easier they come off.
Periodic waxing or wheel polish application will help prevent things from sticking to your wheels.
