My camaro has a tan interior. Has anyone repainted the interior to make it a different color? I was thinking black or dark grey. I'm thinking all I have to do is the plastic, carpet and seats. It doesn't seem too hard. Any ideas?

Better to have it dyed if you can find a place that will dye it for you.

I didn't think of that. About how much would that cost?

No idea, I just know it looks more natural (like the car came that way) and lasts, well, I suppose forever unless it fades over a few decades.

I think you'll just have to research it on google. I'm not sure where that sort of thing can be done. It'd take an awfully big bath tub!

I also don't think RIT Dye like Walmart sells is intended for that. You'd need a company that uses UV resistant dye I suspect intended for automotive purposes.

To me, it'd be worth the extra effort, because it'll look so much better than paint that will chip over time.

I was originally looking into something like dupli-color. If I can find a place to dye, I think it'll be too expensive. You know how hard it is to find things on google???

You could buy a gray interior used off this board (or other sites that have that type of thing)...

You need to check some body shop supply places.

I researched this a bit, and it seems like the only dyes are spray on, and you can get them from Napa or Sherwin Williams auto paint supply places. Doesn't sound like a fun process to me, but sounds like it works better than paint. I read a lot of posts on some messageboard, and all the guys that said they used paint were so pissed they used paint.
